Troubleshooting Ads Not Showing on Your Site

Introduction

If you have integrated ad code but no ads appear, use this checklist to find and fix common publisher issues.

Step 1: Check Site and Ad Unit Status

  1. In your publisher dashboard, confirm that the site is verified and active.
  2. Open the ad units list and verify that the relevant unit is enabled.
  3. Confirm there are no policy alerts or compliance warnings on the account.

Step 2: Validate the Integration

On the affected page:

  • Use your browser developer tools to confirm that the ad container element exists.
  • Check that there are no obvious JavaScript errors related to the ad code.
  • Test in a private window with all ad blocking extensions turned off.

Important: Some corporate or mobile networks block ads at the network level, so always test from more than one connection.

Step 3: Review Traffic and Eligibility

Even with correct integration, it can take time for demand to match your inventory. Check:

  • Whether the page receives enough traffic to generate requests.
  • If geographic or content targeting might limit available ads.
  • Whether fill rate is close to zero in performance reports.
