Site-Level vs Ad-Unit-Level Publisher Reports
Introduction
Publisher reports can usually be viewed at the site level or ad-unit level. This article explains the difference and when to use each.
Site-Level Reports
Site-level views group performance by domain. Use them to:
- Compare how different sites perform overall.
- See which site contributes most revenue.
- Spot sites with low traffic or weak engagement.

Ad-Unit-Level Reports
Ad-unit views show results for individual placements. Use them to:
- Identify high-performing placements on a single site.
- Find units with impressions but low click-through rate.
- Decide which positions to keep, change, or remove.
Switch between site and ad-unit grouping using a drop-down or grouping control in the report.
Choosing the Right View
- Start with site-level to understand the overall distribution of revenue.
- Move to ad-unit-level when you want to optimize specific placements.
- Use both levels together to plan which sites and units deserve the most attention.
