Website Verification for Publishers
Introduction
Before you can serve ads on a new site, most platforms require you to verify that you own the domain. This article explains the common verification steps for publishers.
Step 1: Add Your Site
- Open the sites or inventory section in your publisher dashboard.
- Click the option to add a new site or domain.
- Enter the domain exactly as it appears in the browser bar.

Step 2: Choose Verification Method
Typical verification methods include:
- Uploading a small file to the root of your site.
- Adding a meta tag in the head of your home page.
- Creating a DNS record such as a TXT entry.
Your dashboard will show the exact value you need to place on your site. Pick the method that best matches how you manage your domain.
Step 3: Confirm Verification
After you complete the required change:
- Return to the dashboard verification screen.
- Click the button to check or refresh verification.
- Wait for the status to change from pending to verified.
If verification fails, double-check that the value you added matches what the dashboard shows and that changes have propagated.
